چکیده

Salt hydrates have been used as phase change materials (PCMs) for various types of Thermal Energy Storage (TES) especially cold storage. In this project, a novel composite material (PCM) consisted mixed solution inorganic salt and organic was developed characterized. Firstly, the PCM solutions containing sodium formate, potassium chloride water with weight percentage were evaluated to understand their solidification temperature, melting supercooling degree latent heat. Then mass fractions at percentages 22%/12%/66% better performance selected further study restrain supercooling. Different gelling agents nucleate employed in PCM. The results show that addition 0.6 wt% xanthan gum can effectively prevent separation leakage, while nano-TiO2 is best nucleating agent since be reduced 2.6 °C, which 67.9% lower than original without any agent. Finally, tested frozen food storage application, temperature could maintained below -18 °C over 10 hours insulated box. This indicated suitability transportation.

Phase separation of composite materials through simultaneous polymerization and crystallization

Composite materials have attracted much interest because of the emergent properties originating from the components. A variety of methods have been studied to control the morphology of composites based on noncrystalline polymers and crystalline materials. However, it is not easy to control complex morphologies, such as segregated sea-island structures, on the submicrometer scale. Polymerization...

Preparation and Supercooling Modification of Salt Hydrate Phase Change Materials Based on CaCl2·2H2O/CaCl2

Salt hydrates have issues of supercooling when they are utilized as phase change materials (PCMs). In this research, a new method was adopted to prepare a salt hydrate PCM (based on a mixture of calcium chloride dihydrate and calcium chloride anhydrous) as a novel PCM system to reduce the supercooling phenomenon existing in CaCl₂·6H₂O. Six samples with different compositions of CaCl₂ were prepa...
